Deciding on a location for a manufactured home
entails several major considerations. You, the buyer, must decide whether you want to live
on private property or in a community. If private property is the most attractive option
for a home, it is vital to investigate zoning regulations for the specific county or
township.
Other considerations for private land include
utility locations, regulations related to future additions and property taxes. After a
private site has been selected, buyers, according to the Better Business Bureau (BBB),
must arrange for an engineered foundation comprised of:
- Properly prepared concrete supports for the home or
an approved foundation
- Anchorage provisions
- Connections to utilities
Septic and sewer options
RADCO can assist buyers in all aspects of the
getting started phase, including researching zoning laws in Michigan.
If you've decided on a land-lease community,
you must find out about rules and regulations such as whether children and pets are
allowed or what kind of parking laws are in effect. It is also important to be aware of
leasing issues to determine leasing rates and periods.
